Henderson expects busy summer transfer window for Liverpool
As the Premier League season nears its conclusion, clubs in the top flight are making preparations for to bolster their squads and Manchester United could be in for a summer of spending if their takeover goes through. The Red Devils are subject of a £5bn tug-of-war between Sheikh Jassim and Jim Ratcliffe, with funds likely to be handed to Erik ten Hag to bring in a striker and improve in other areas too.
The likes of Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, although the pair could cost in excess of £100million, and the Dutchman could be forced to target a cheaper alternative in Marcus Thuram while the takeover remains in the balance.
Arsenal have no such issues to worry about, but Mikel Arteta will be desperate to shake off their title disappointment with more signings this summer.
Liverpool have already announced four players will leave, including Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita, meaning Jurgen Klopp will need to find some replacements, while Mauricio Pochettino is set to take over at Chelsea and spark an exodus of summer departures.

Ten Hag details transfer talks
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag revealed that he is speaking to chief executive Richard Arnold and football director “every day” regarding the club’s summer plans.
The Red Devils will be unaware of their own transfer budget until the takeover process is concluded, but plans are still ongoing regarding incoming and outgoings.
Ten Hag reportedly wants a marquee striker such as Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen, but today admitted that a permanent deal for loanee Marcel Sabitzer was not their top priority.
“We will see but it’s not our main focus, the main focus is Bournemouth,” Ten Hag said.
Pochettino to axe 7 Chelsea stars
Incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly set to sell seven Blues players in order to raise over £100million this summer.
Following a fire sale from Todd Boehly and co that has seen over £600m spent in the previous two windows, the bloated squad at Stamford Bridge is expected to be significantly trimmed.
Mason Mount could headline the outgoing players as he has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Arsenal, though seven of his team-mates could follow him out of the door.

PSG move for United target
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly stepped up their interest in Napoli defender Kim Min-jae, who is also a summer target for Manchester United.
The Red Devils were said to be favourites for the centre-back’s signature, but French outlet RMC Sport have claimed that PSG chief Luis Campos has met with the player’s representatives over a potential move.
His preference does, however, appear to be the Premier League in a boost for United’s chances, though they will hope that their impending takeover dragging on will not impact any deal.
Tuchel makes Cancelo admission as Arsenal wait
Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel has refused to confirm whether Joao Cancelo will make his loan move from Manchester City permanent with Arsenal reportedly keen on the full-back.
Cancelo joined the Bavarian giants in January until the end of the season with a £62.8m buy option included, but the Portuguese has been in and out of the team.
Arsenal are understood to be keen on recruiting the 28-year-old, and while Tuchel says Cancelo is happy to stay in Germany, he cannot guarantee a deal will be reached.
“I have the impression that Joao Cancelo feels very comfortable here,” Tuchel before Bayern’s clash with RB Leipzig tomorrow.
“But all parties are part of the decision. His desire in training is unique. I have the feeling that he’s really happy. We’ll discuss everything else after the end of the season.”
Lampard doubles down on Haaland
Frank Lampard has hailed Erling Haaland’s “special” ability and revealed he tried to sign the Norwegian when he was Chelsea boss in 2020.
“When I was last at Chelsea I was really keen to get him here. His level was clear when we played against him at Salzburg,” he told reporters in a news conference.
“I don’t know if he would have decided to come anyway but I was a big fan. I was pushing big, he was the outstanding one.”
Man Utd and Spurs battle for Palace star
Manchester United and Tottenham could be set to battle it out in the race to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi this summer.
French outlet Foot Mercato report the Eagles are ‘not against’ the idea of selling the England international if they receive a big offer with United and Spurs both reportedly keen on the 22-year-old.
Guehi arrived from Chelsea for £18m in 2021 without making a single appearance for the Blues, but his stock has risen considerably at Selhurst Park and he would command a high transfer fee as a result.
Arteta gives update on Saliba contract
Mikel Arteta has called for patience as Arsenal continue to hold talks with William Saliba over a new contract with the club.
The Frenchman started every Premier League game this season until a back problem ruled him out for the final weeks of the season, and his absence has been sorely felt as the Gunners leaked crucial goals to all but end their title challenge.
Saliba’s current deal expires in 2024, although the club have the option to trigger a one-year extension, and Arteta remains hopeful that an agreement on a new long-term deal can be reached.
“We are trying, we are having conversations and we are trying to maintain the talent that we have at the club,” he told reporters.
“But things take time, we have to agree, there are different parties involved. I think everybody’s intention is the same so hopefully we will find the right solution.”
Liverpool eye midfield duo
Liverpool are looking at recruiting two potential stars for the future after weighing up moves for Orkan Kokcu and Tijjani Reijnders.
Jurgen Klopp will need to sign at least two replacements this summer after announcing Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would be leaving on free transfers, with Arthur Melo heading back to Juventus.
Kokcu, an attacking midfielder at Feyenoord, has emerged as a potential target, according to Football Transfers.
The report also claims AZ Alkmaar star Reijnders, 24, is on their radar ahead of a potential switch this summer, with Jude Bellingham heading to Real Madrid and Alexis Mac Allister proving to be an expensive signing at £75m.
Man Utd scout ‘new Osimhen’
Manchester United are one of four Premier League clubs chasing Gent goal machine Gift Orban, who has been dubbed the next Victor Osimhen.
The 20-year-old has bagged 19 goals in 19 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League since joining the Belgian outfit and Europe’s elite clubs have sent scouts to run the rule over the Nigerian forward.
He joined Gent for just £2.5m in January but now it is believed they could demand around £20m for his services this summer, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Fulham all watching the highly-rated forward, according to The Evening Standard.
United have been keen to secure a striker this summer but Osimhen, rated at £150m by his club Napoli, could be out of their price range – and Orban may be a more realistic, low-risk option for Erik ten Hag’s side.
BREAKING: Man Utd confirm Jones exit
Manchester United have announced defender Phil Jones will leave the club this summer after 12 years of service.
The 31-year-old has been plagued by injury for much of his United career and has made only 13 appearances over the past four seasons.
The £16m signing from Blackburn will now depart on a free transfer when his contract expires on June 30 as he attempts to revive his career elsewhere.
A club statement read: “Our no.4 is now taking some time before deciding his next move and everybody at United would like to wish Phil the very best of luck for the future.”
Spurs eye surprise Chelsea move
Tottenham are reportedly lining up a surprise move for Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy as a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
The Senegalese is under contract until 2025 but wants a new contract that puts him on a level standing with Kepa Arrizabalaga, which Chelsea are reluctant to do.
One of their goalkeepers is likely to leave this summer and Mendy, having barely played this season, looks the more likely candidate to depart.
The Daily Mail suggest Tottenham could make a shock swoop for the 30-year-old as a replacement for Lloris, although it remains to be seen whether the Blues would entertain selling to one of their biggest rivals.

Manchester United are thought to be closing in on a deal for Napoli defender Kim Min-jae as Erik ten Hag’s side are ‘big favourites’ to land the Napoli star.
Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano claims the South Korean is keen on the move and United can pay his release clause set at £50m, although the new Serie A champions are looking to extend his contract.
There is also understood to be interest from PSG, meaning United will have to move quickly to snap up the 26-year-old.
And his arrival could spend the end of Harry Maguire’s four-year spell at Old Trafford, with the England international likely to be sold to make room for Kim.
Chelsea get green light for Caicedo
Chelsea could move unopposed for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo with Arsenal said to be focusing their efforts on signing Rice.
The Ecuadorian is under contract until 2027 after signing a new deal in January with a bumper pay rise and his performances have not wilted since then.
The Blues are looking to sign another central midfielder to partner Enzo Fernandez and reportedly see Caicedo as the ideal successor to N’Golo Kante.
Fabrizio Romano, speaking to Paramount+, claims the west London club are ‘tracking’ Caicedo, with Manchester United also keen.
Arsenal ‘very confident’ over Rice
Arsenal are “very confident” of signing Rice and feel they are the front runners as Mikel Arteta plans his first bid next month.
The Gunners have had their sights set on recruiting the West Ham captain for some time and, with the 24-year-old out of contract next year, the north London club are ready to test the waters.
They are already discussing the opening terms of the Rice bid in June, according to Fabrizio Romano, with West Ham likely to initially stick to their £100m asking price.
